Review on Samyang SY12M-FX-BK: Superior Ultra Wide Angle Lens for Fujifilm X-Mount Cameras in Classic Black Color by Greg Birchfield

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great design and value for money

This is a manual focus lens which by the way has no digital connection to your camera. So you need to make sure your Fuji is set up properly to be able to shoot with this thing. But as soon as you earn, I will tell you that this is a dream. This is the perfect lens for landscapes, food and real estate. If you've never used a manual focus lens before, don't be intimidated as it's very easy to use. With the Fuji X-Series settings, you can very quickly determine what's sharp and what's not. You'll be shooting like a pro with your lens in no time. As for individual lenses. Makes very nice photos with soft edges. The lens itself is beautifully built into a lovely metal body that looks like it can take a beating. I bet it feels more durable than the significantly more expensive Fujinon XF WR lenses I also own. I don't want to test the waterproofing of this lens as it doesn't claim to be weatherproof. But I will say that the focus ring is very smooth and the aperture ring is very smooth and clicky at any setting. This will help me review other lenses in their line in the future.
