The cuts for the scissor blades are too narrow for any good sewing scissors. The only suitable scissors were cheap scissors for cutting paper. Once you find that the scissors fit, you'll find that the sharpening angle isn't correct, so it doesn't touch the edge that's supposed to be sharpened. The center of the blade is the only area the "stone" touches. Which is basically worthless. We've found it gets rid of the "flat surfaces" on our steak knives, which we typically use steel for. So again, useless junk, don't waste your money on this. Don't you dare send it back. garbage
