I've had this dartboard in my home for about 15 years and I've always played with soft tips without realizing that the board I had , was actually steel. . I only recently discovered this when I walked into a bar and found that the dartboard was made out of the same material as mine. Eventually the darts kept coming off the board after being thrown and then I started adding ones and ones and found that my board was made for steel tipped darts. So I decided to buy these hard tips to see how well they work and they work well. I am very happy with my purchase of this product. I think I will be buying another board soon to add to my dart collection.
