I think it's okay for the price. The little markings on the thermometer make it very difficult to see, but if you hold it very close to the jar you can tell if it's within the recommended range they have on it. You may need a small flashlight and reading glasses. If you see a similar one that costs more than $2.99 I wouldn't buy it. I paid €2.99 and it's worth it. Hope it holds up without breaking. Mine stays in place at the bottom but I have it in the front corner away from any flow from the hanging rear filter in my 29 gallon Beta tank. Average thermometer at best.
