Locks are well made and easy to combine. The color is more copper than orange but looks nice. However, I am not sure if they are suitable for a hard case. I've had two flights on a Pelican 1510, lost one on departure and the other on the way back. The TSA did not open the case because the remaining lock had no indicator and there was no security paper in my case. I "guess" that they couldn't move as they were in a hard case so any impact with the conveyor belts or other luggage could cause them to open. I will say the customer service was excellent. I contacted the seller/manufacturer and they quickly sent me two wired versions to replace the missing locks. I haven't tested them yet, but they will be able to move and flex a little if they collide with something on the conveyors. Remember that DOT-approved locks are never as secure as standard locks, so you need to keep that in mind. That's what the TSA wants in case they need to remove them. The two extras I have are used for my regular luggage. I have no doubt that they will work well. It's a good product, it just didn't work on my Pelican.
