Came in a nice box with care instructions. The wood is smooth and the comb isn't heavy, but I have enough weight in my hand not to feel flimsy or cheap. As others have mentioned, it has a distinct odor - sort of like a sweet/smoky incense scent - but I find it pleasant. I can be sensitive to some smells and it doesn't bother me; However, I will say that I could see that this might not work for someone more sensitive than me. I also wish my teeth were a bit longer as I have coarse, wavy and quite thick hair. But I just washed my hair and used it to detangle afterwards and was very happy with how easy it glides on. It's very comfortable to use, seems to add some shine and definitely adds some volume when used with my flipped hair! Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
