Review on 🔌 Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with LED Power Switches & 5V/2.5A Adapter - HB-UMP3 by Johnny Murphy

This product consists of two things: a desktop-powered USB 3.0 hub and a charger. The hub is exactly what I was looking for - a tower format, with all the essential ports on the back and a few extras on the front for the occasional USB stick and mouse receiver. I get USB 3.0 speeds with no problems. Unfortunately they tried to overcharge the charger. The two front red ports are for charging only. I have a USB charge tester and can never go above 4.9V at 1.8A. That's 8.82 W. For comparison, the charger for my 6-year-old iPad puts out 12 W (5 V at 2.1 A). If that was the only issue, I'd be fine - slower loading isn't a big deal. However, the big problem occurs when you connect a second device. If you're pulling "full" 9 watts out of one port when plugging in the next one for charging, the hub will overload and shut down. It reboots immediately but you get into this endless loading/not loading cycle. Now I'm still giving four stars because I needed a desktop hub and not a desktop charger. So I'm still 90% satisfied with this product. But it's annoying that I can't use it for its intended purpose.
