I understand that some might not like this if they are used to a big brand that starts with the letter 'T'. I got the blue island set and couldn't control them at first because the tip is very long and soft and flexible and the ink is spread all over and I tried to use them like my other brush pens. BUT then I realized they work best if you apply the ink lightly (very lightly!) and then apply more ink to it before the ink dries and treat it like watercolor to enhance areas of your writing or drawing. Where they really shine is in mixing different colors (but again, it's best to apply the color before the ink has set so the new ink has a damp surface to mix with). So far I've only used them for lettering, but I think they'll be great for drawing. In my picture you can see that I mixed a light blue with a medium blue and a dark blue and boosted the colors in some places.
