The 500mg tablets are perfectly acceptable and I generally think Ester-C is the best brand of vitamin C in terms of absorption but the 1000mg is -Tablets are just TOO BIG to swallow safely. Especially since they're compressed tablets rather than gelcaps, they stick to my tongue instead of sliding off easily. And then they get stuck in my throat. Several times I almost choked on those giant pills (with a drink, of course). It was terrible. And I'm usually pretty good at swallowing pills. It's so bad that I'm now too scared to attempt this death-defying feat when I'm alone with no one to bring me back to life, Heimlich. And even with an assistant ready to save me, it's still pretty scary. To be honest I don't think these pills should be legal. These really are death traps. I rarely do product reviews, but I felt it was my moral duty to warn people against it.
