I really like this watch

I really like this watch only there are a few small remarks but enough not to make it perfect. I start with what I like. It's compact, has GPS, looks clean, and doesn't look like you're wearing a smartwatch at all. I like to use a simple everyday watch as a fitness watch. I still use the Garmin Edge for most of my bike rides, but it's great for other shorter rides, hiking, skiing, etc. The Garmin Connect app has been greatly improved. ) was bigger and harder to turn off. With other smartwatches, I've been able to rely on the vibration as an alarm that doesn't wake me as much, which the vivoactive 3 doesn't. Second, ending an activity is confusing. Once you start one of them it becomes counterintuitive on how to kill it (you have to swipe out of the app and it would make more sense if you swiped to bring up the app but you didn't. See you also faces on. There aren't many, if any, good digital options. Admittedly there are a lot of them in the store but a lot of them are over the top. I want a simple digital display with time pedometer, heart rate and date. It would be really nice if only the watch faces built into a Garmin watch were adjustable too, just like the Connect IQ watch faces from your phone. And finally the heart rate sensor. It works day in and day out, which is fine I want to, but it works. However, when I go for a run or bike ride, it's always 20 bpm lower unless I REALLY reduce how tight it is. I've had Fitbit devices before and "they." didn't have that kind of problem that worked much easier, not so hard on the wrist. The last thing I would most like to see on their app is better sleep tracking. Fitbit systems appear to have much more advanced (and accurate) sleep tracking. I know I'm up a few times when it says I'm a light sleeper, while Fitbit collected all the times I was awake briefly but didn't remember in the evening and reported sleep levels in more detail.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
