Correct size for 1/4 pound sticks commonly sold in Wisconsin (and probably most of the Midwest?). This is the second similar container I've bought. The first lasted many years and if I hadn't put it on the hot end of the oven I would still be using it. We have a standard egg tray at the top of the fridge door. This little butter container fits perfectly next to it, so we can store a pack of butter or a portion of it right next to the egg carton. Perfect size, perfect fit.
