I bought this top grip a few months ago to convert my Sony a6500 into a 'movie set' of sorts. I was primarily looking for some weight in the setup and additional features to better hold the camera at angles. The big advantage of this setup, despite its robustness, is that it makes handheld photography much smoother. I find myself using the grip in situations where I would otherwise use my rig. With a little stretch stabilization when shooting at a wide focal length of around 16mm, I consistently manage to get really sharp shots. The mounts on this handle are fantastic. And the grip itself connects flush and securely to the camera - I've even stowed it in front of my car at 60mph without a tug. Just make sure it's a snug fit, but to an extent it just becomes part of the camera body. At this price this is a steal. It adds weight and functionality, allowing you to shoot from new angles and with stability. A must-have item for documentary filmmakers. Suddenly my Sony a6500 setup catches the attention of customers who are quick to compliment me. From that standpoint alone, it's a great investment.
