I wanted something smaller that I could easily move around and use as a touch table for my son. It's 1 and 1/2 so I used rice and cornmeal instead of sand. It's a little smaller than other sand tables I've seen, but it's the perfect size for my son. My only wish is for the lid to go over the rim and snap into place instead of sitting in the rim to keep water out. For others using it for the water table it doesn't matter. My son really likes the toys he brought and he carries them around the house. He likes the rotating Ferris wheel as a toy.
