Review on Terramar Women's Thermasilk Pointelle Scoop: Superior Warmth and Style for Women by James Collins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Don't judge a book by its cover!

Yes, it's very thin, but perfect for 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit. If you're looking for a thicker silk tank top, you'll want the TERRAMAR BASELAYER, which is a lot more expensive (around $80) but is also a lot thicker than a thermal/cotton shirt. These are thin like pantyhose but AMAZING when you don't want bulk and need a layer of warmth. It looked really cute under a loose, open-knit "sweater", you know, those cute ones that show a bit of the jersey through - or for nice tops and blouses etc. If you're trying to wrap up like an Eskimo, you need a thick base layer. Yes, it will catch. Yes, it is super transparent. THIS IS THE MAGIC! Silk is naturally great at retaining heat, so the fact that it's thin is a PLUS for those looking for a solution that doesn't add bulk. If you take it out of the box and immediately think it's too thin, try it outside, in the cold, under your clothes, because just looking at it won't tell you how warm it is. The fact that it's super transparent is a definite plus!

Pros
  • Scoop neckline with scallops, spandex cuffs and front and back ponytail
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
