Not silk at all.: Active

At the time of purchase of this product it stated that it was 100% silk. When I received it the label said it was cotton, model, spandex. It looks like the same product, it's not 100% silk.

Perfect layer for winter

I have worn silk t-shirts for many years. I usually wear them from November to April. The material is very thin but don't be put off by the warmth it gives you. Silk only keeps out drafts in winter. I'm 5'8" and about 165 pounds. Big size fourteen. This size hugs my body and is long enough to tuck my jeans in nicely.

It's super light and it was great that it's not too heavy.

This is an ultra-light material that doesn't get too hot during the day, but stays warm enough at night after a temperature drop of 20 degrees. One thing to be aware of is that it is PURE! This is not visible in the photo, so I was surprised. I never wanted this to be my only level, so that's not a problem for me.

Perfect layer for travel, office and sports!

I get chills all the time due to low blood pressure. This top is the perfect undergarment. It is non-slip, very light, does not crease and crease under clothing and is also an ideal thermal layer. I love merino, but 100% silk is incredibly soft. When traveling I can quickly hand wash/hang dry this top and wear it again in the morning to reduce the amount of outerwear washing. I'm 5'2" and #125-130, Medieval takes place in all the usual places and the average height is perfect.

VIEW THROUGH TECHNOLOGY! for clothing

It's always cold in my office and I have to wear black robes so I bought two of these tops to go well with them. These tops are EXTREMELY thin, light and TRANSPARENT! They should not be worn alone, only as a base layer. The tops kept me so warm all day that I rolled up my sleeves. I wish they weren't so see through but they keep me warmer than nothing but I definitely love the Watson's Girl's Long Sleeve Performance Top in size XL which only comes in purple. This is the softest long sleeve…

Thin, light and well insulated

I must be lucky (after reading the bad reviews) because the quality of my Thermasilk is okay. It's a bit large - I think it should fit snugly and under other layers (although I sometimes wear a small t-shirt underneath). It's quite transparent and windy, so its insulating ability only works when something is worn over it. It is ideal for traveling, weighs almost nothing and is compact. It kept me warm without being bulky during a week-long hike in February. If it got too hot, it was easy to…

Don't judge a book by its cover!

Yes, it's very thin, but perfect for 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit. If you're looking for a thicker silk tank top, you'll want the TERRAMAR BASELAYER, which is a lot more expensive (around $80) but is also a lot thicker than a thermal/cotton shirt. These are thin like pantyhose but AMAZING when you don't want bulk and need a layer of warmth. It looked really cute under a loose, open-knit "sweater", you know, those cute ones that show a bit of the jersey through - or for nice tops and blouses etc. If

Pros
  • Scoop neckline with scallops, spandex cuffs and front and back ponytail

  • There are other interesting options.

Thin, silky thermal underwear that retains light to moderate heat

I bought 2 sets of small size black silk thermal underwear for $20 top and $17 bottom (after tax and shipping). I got a great deal but now that I'm wearing thermal underwear I wouldn't pay more. Why? Because they are very simple, very thin (like tights) and made in China. I'm 5ft 1in, 112lbs, straight build except for my 32F chest. I usually go to XS, but because of the sale, the price I order is small. It fits like loungewear (not like cozy thermals), but I don't mind. Sometimes I come home…

Pros
  • Washing: To keep your Terramar Silk gear in top condition, we recommend machine washing and hanging to dry. Because the material is very thin, hanging dry will prevent the fabric from stretching. Bleach only when needed
Cons
  • Can't remember

For size reference I'm 1.60m tall and I usually wear XS or S depending on brand, shirt style etc. I have a petite build with a 36C chest. Bought an S here and it fits well. Definitely not very tight, rather loose. At first I was very disappointed and thought that as a base layer it should be like the second skin and I thought about returning it but I didn't have time and after a few days I went on a trip. In the end I'm happy with the fit. Maybe a size XS would fit a bit tighter, but most…
