This cable works well when you need a charging extension cable. If you just need a longer cable, you usually buy a longer cable. In my case, I use it with a phone dock in the car, which isn't ideal for my phone, but it allows me to use the dock's USB port without taking up or resorting to an additional USB port in the car Power adapter for the cigarette lighter connection. When you consider how many inexpensive USB cables out there that can do just as many things and are just as well made, this gets on the expensive side. But it has a very specific function and the competition is limited. That doesn't make it a bad cable, but it's no deal.
