I've seen reviews of how well this device works but it hasn't affected my safe in any way. The last combo I found for temperature and humidity control is a gold wand, an Evadry 500, and a USB desktop fan. I put the goldenrod in the bottom of the vault, Evadri in the middle, and the fan blows dry air over Eva. The fan also does an excellent job of dissipating heat. My safe is a .40 gauge shotgun, which is stored in my insulated garage, but gets pretty cold. The combination brought the temperature in my safe to 58F and 49% humidity. Before, I couldn't get it below 60% with Rod and Evadry. The fan is the real trick here.
