Good product. does what it says

I don't know why there is so much drama in some reviews. The one I have says "Made in America"and does the job. Basically, you buy a very small heater to heat the air in your vault and thus dehumidify the air. I also bought a digital hygrometer to measure temperature and humidity. Make sure you choose the right length. You probably want the largest your safe can hold. Also, it runs on AC power, so your safe must have an opening for the AC line.

Doesn't change humidity

I've had the right size rod in my gun cabinet for weeks. To test the effect, I placed a wireless temperature and humidity sensor inside the safe and another just outside the safe. I made sure both sensors were calibrated before starting the test. As you can see from the data I posted, the temperature inside the safe is noticeably higher. At the same time, the humidity inside the safe is always 3% higher on average.

You will need a pole, as well as a fan and a pebble dryer.

I've seen reviews of how well this device works but it hasn't affected my safe in any way. The last combo I found for temperature and humidity control is a gold wand, an Evadry 500, and a USB desktop fan. I put the goldenrod in the bottom of the vault, Evadri in the middle, and the fan blows dry air over Eva. The fan also does an excellent job of dissipating heat. My safe is a .40 gauge shotgun, which is stored in my insulated garage, but gets pretty cold. The combination brought the…

A gun safe kept outside in the garage. in the Midwest.

One of the many devices I use to store my refrigerator-sized pistol outside in an unheated garage. If you're wondering what I did, here's my rundown: cold weather storage. 24" goldenrod on the bottom tier of the safe. 2. A feed dryer (small) - second shelf. 3. Some of the rechargeable crystals absorb moisture. $12 My safe has 3 AC ports and 2 USB ports for power. My Safe maintains a stable temperature of 66f with a humidity of 45. This applies when the outside temperature is between 25 and 40…

Great product that works as advertised

I bought a GoldenRod for my 64 gun safe and it works really well. The temperature inside the vault stays around 8 degrees above ambient and the humidity stays around 40%. I have no corrosion on the contents of the safe and it is in an unair conditioned garage. I am generally very satisfied with the product. One feature I like is the adjustable cord length. My safe has a 110v outlet and I cut the cord to the perfect length so it's out of the way and harder to hook with a gun butt. The…

It really works! best heating, cooling and air quality

I started using SensorPush wireless temperature and humidity sensors in my gun cabinets and it was an absolute revelation. I've been trying different gun hydration options for the past few weeks to see what works and I've been seriously impressed with the results of the GoldenRod in combination with silica gel canisters. For my testing, I used a SensorPush inside the vault and one just outside so I could compare the results. (SensorPush lets you monitor real-time, as well as track weekly and…

Does what it should.

I ordered this small 12 inch sentry safe designed mainly to protect against honest people. It's not a very good safe. the same have been used for decades. I didn't have to replace any of them. I only recently tested them to make sure they still work after all these years. Yes, there are heating rods for less money, but to me the Golden Rods are worth every penny. I know they work. They come with a lifetime guarantee, it is very doubtful that you will ever use them. read that before. That being…
