Review on LifeStraw Go Water Filter Bottle: The Ultimate 2-Stage Integrated Filter Straw for Hiking Adventures by Chris Russell

Danger! Unfiltered water leaking from the silicone restrictor at the top can contaminate the drinking part you put in your mouth.

If you want a water bottle that is very difficult to siphon filtered water from, buy one. If you want a water filter bottle that will leak if dropped, buy one. If you want to avoid disappointment, snap an MSR recording and fill your water bottle with ease. I've been using the Sawyer Mini for several years now. In combination with my water bladder hose it is fantastic. But I don't always like using hydration bladders so I bought this LifeStraw Go water filter bottle thinking it would be great with the charcoal filter and all. Boy was I wrong! I'm not a fan of how hard it is to suck water out of it and I don't like the fact that it leaks if it tips over. Water leakage from the silicone air balance thing on top I think. So if it leaks all over the silicone part that you put in your mouth, you still run the risk of getting waterborne pathogens in your mouth. This is an important health issue in my book.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Has been damaged
