This is not fake, at least the pair I received is not fake. The specs are identical to what I bought from Nordstrom. Yes, they also say Made in the Dominican Republic. Maybe it's just that "they don't make them the way they used to be?" Right now they're a little tight and chafe on the instep, but as I wear them they get better. I'm working on taking them apart before wearing them for long days on an upcoming trip. I'll update my review if they don't last! Platinum is a beautiful color. I wanted gold sandals because I already have some silver. Based on another review I chose platinum because it can be worn with gold or silver. I would say it's true. They feel slippery underneath, so I'm hoping the slipperiness will wear off once I wear them. I'm between 7.5 and 8. I always get an 8 in boys because I think they're a bit small. For most, I would suggest getting your normal size, but if you're somewhere in between like me, go up. I'm happy with that. The price I paid here was the lowest I could find and I shopped a lot.
