Nifty shoot-thru in Camera & Photo

This was my first commercial modifier and I love it. I can say it doesn't last very long, but it's a lot easier to use than my homemade approaches in the past and I'm delighted with the effect - I took a couple of portraits for a local artist and after just a couple of shots that refines the right level of light, we got the result that we both liked in terms of the quality of the highlights and shadows. The only slight caveat I have if you're new to umbrellas is that you might, just might, want to start with something smaller if you're either 1) using it low on a stand since it's tall, which means not just a wide spread, but maybe touching the ground or legs, or 2) plan to use it near the background if you want it to be really dark - I suppose a wide spread can throw light there , where you don't need it. While I had enough depth in space, it wasn't a problem for me (or you could GOBOn it, as I often do with DIY solutions). Oh and I suppose so and with any umbrella you have to take the wind into account too? By far the best diffuser in my kit for the price and convenience. I'm sure there are more durable options that deserve 5 stars, but that's exactly what I expected.
