Boils too long, lid opener awkward

I bought this boiler because our original one was old, dirty and occasionally leaking. I liked this design from the photos as it looked more elegant and held 0.3 liters more water than our previous one. Little did I know that this one seemed to lack many of the qualities I enjoyed in our last water heater. First, the lid opens with a simple push on the latch at the top of the kettle. It's just personal preference, but I prefer the lid-open button on the handle as it poses less risk to the user if they want to open the lid while the water is boiling. It's also awkward to open as you have to put your hand inside the lid to open it. Second, there is no filter next to the spout so if this boiler ever gets dirty all debris and other dirty materials will be removed. pour directly into the cup. Apparently they were trying to make some kind of filter with big plastic holes, but to be honest it wouldn't hurt to get through. I appreciate that it came with a leaflet on how to clean it if it ever gets dirty, but I think the filter should be a gift as hot water boilers tend to build up scale from tap water. Third, the spout is oddly shaped (I suspect the intended purpose was for any remaining water droplets to flow back into the spout due to physics), but it only seems to work half the time. The other half of the time, water runs down the side of the pot as you pour, which is a bad sign if you're trying to pour hot, boiling water. And fourthly, the water boils for an insanely long time. . I don't know if it's because this thing holds a little more water than your regular boiler (I've seen 1.7 liters on average) but I swear this thing takes twice as long to boil water than our old one and beaten. except for the hot water boiler it's doing right now. I tried boiling water when the thing was half full and it still took an insane amount of time. At full power (2 liters) it took about 15 minutes to boil all the water. Our old water heater takes about 5-6 minutes to boil 1.7 liters of water.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Not everything fits
