Very soft and flexible so you can wear them on either ear. Earplugs take a little getting used to. They are designed to be placed outside the ear and are quite large. My calls are clear and nobody has ever commented on the quality of my voice while wearing the headset. Sometimes I move 50 feet from my apartment and the calls keep ringing. The only thing that needs getting used to is the handling without accidentally touching the MFB, which turns out to be quite sensitive.
