broken hardware, short phone clips, phone may detach while driving

Not very impressed with this mount. First, the screw required to use the clip-on bracket was useless as the metal mostly covered the hex shape that you put the hex wrench in (you can see the metal ball on the screw head in the picture). if you wait for days for the required accessory and then come across it, it is of course annoying. Does anyone really need to go to a hardware store to find the right fastener for a product to work as advertised? Speaking of commercials, when you're shown that the crowbar can be rotated on the clamp, you might think it's a snap. it's not - you have to loosen the screw that attaches it to the clamp and index it in 90 degree increments. because the attachment point on the holder is a cross that fits into the cross on the clamp and no free rotation is built in. If you choose to mount it with the supplied stem bolt please note that with a good headset you will hollow this out at the end as the bracket has 2 bolts left and right protruding from the back where it rests on the cover stem/steering column. If the stem/headset cap is domed rather than flat, you may be a little better off with the mount. Anyway, it doesn't look like a thoughtful solution. In terms of performance, the claws are short and work well with a bare/naked phone, but in any case (even a thin one) there's less certainty the mount can get the job done unless you don't mind To squeeze the clip For peace of mind. The screw mechanism is weak. If you drive without phone installed, you must fully tighten it, otherwise the mount will rattle. I was expecting a more precise/firm feel from this adjuster screw as it tends to loosen (vibration) while riding.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Pretty good
