Review on 🌿 Exploring Nature's Wonders: Learning Resources Prepared Slides Specimens by Alex Montgomery

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Poor quality, who created these slides?

I paid about $5 on sale for these slides and I would say they aren't worth it anymore. You get twelve slides, each with 4 different "patterns", for a total of 48 different types of objects to watch. The slides are clearly labeled and contain a beautiful and interesting variety of things, and they are grouped logically (e.g. there are different types of pollen on the same slide - some of the coolest microscopic objects). If they pull this off now and prepare them properly, that would be awesome! And so the slides show no care whatsoever in the preparation. If you put them under a microscope, you will see unevenly applied lumps of glue with many bubbles. Objects are not prepared or installed incorrectly. For example, onion cells, which are the easiest to make, stain unevenly (some areas have an adequate amount of dye, others don't), and in some areas the plant tissue folds on itself, making observation of the onion cells impossible. The slides are covered with paper labels - which are beautifully designed, but the quality of the labeling itself leaves a lot to be desired. The labels came off the slide on first use. However, the children were very interested. If done well I would give the slides a great rating. Too bad. I hope that Learning Resources will pay some (or more) attention to the preparation of this product.
