I recommend these slides!

My 4 year old daughter is very passionate about science and all things STEM. We gave her this set of slides and hooked them up to a Carson pocket microscope. I am very happy with the quality, especially for the price. We didn't want to invest a lot in a microscope kit just yet because it's young and it was the perfect compromise. Together they are much better toys but not complex and not very fragile. My daughter is extraordinarily sensitive about things, so I'm not worried about her breakingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Poor quality, who created these slides?

I paid about $5 on sale for these slides and I would say they aren't worth it anymore. You get twelve slides, each with 4 different "patterns", for a total of 48 different types of objects to watch. The slides are clearly labeled and contain a beautiful and interesting variety of things, and they are grouped logically (e.g. there are different types of pollen on the same slide - some of the coolest microscopic objects). If they pull this off now and prepare them properly, that would be awesome!

Pros
  • Consistent results when tested
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Excellent specimens!

I was pleasantly surprised by this specimen, especially after reading some of the reviews. The pattern is well made, not dusty, well packaged and beautifully labeled. I've found that some people don't care about some slides. I found them all incredible! All the hair clips look different, not like someone wrote in their review. If you have a dual microscope (I have a My First Lab Duo-Scope - love it!) that allows you to view slides with light from above and below, you'll notice clear differences

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No machine gun
