Type of review

In this price category - a solid five. Very happy with the purchase! I will master the controls tightly, and move on to a full-fledged astrophoto - which now I can do great! 16.02202222 I supplement the review with photographs taken with this telescope. I will say right away: the photo was taken through an adapter on a smartphone, so the quality is slightly lower than during observations: the eye can see better. The photos were taken within the city (orange light zone). When I take a photo…

Pros
  • Ordered in the online store "Sky up". Sent quickly, packed securely, sdek delivered in three days. The first thing that pleased me with terrible force was the remote control in 2022 ! Therefore, it turned out to set up quite quickly - albeit a little clumsily. Well, the first time - you know. But I didn’t really try to do everything. I repeat: this is the first communication with the telescope. It was very interesting to try everything: pointing, tracking, observation, and photography (with a smartphone: I’ll take an astrocamera - when I master communication with the instrument), and get general impressions . Not everything at once :-) The telescope confidently guides planets and stars. When conducting, nothing backlash, does not creak, does not tremble, and so on. Watching is a pleasure: only an easy chair is missing))) Well, the sidewalk - it is the sidewalk. The finder is very easy to adjust. When installing a smartphone with an adapter, you have to slightly tweak the guidance. Sharpness is induced in the same way as on other telescopes with such a focuser. Observed available Saturn and Jupiter. You can clearly see the stripes on Jupiter, satellites. At the rings of Saturn, the Cassini Gap is barely visible, and two satellites are visible. In the absence of urban illumination, much more detail will be visible. No chromatism was found at all.
Cons
  • Power compartment. The power compartment itself is durable, and the cover is not bad, but the wires soldered to the contacts are not hidden at all: blow - and fall off ! I had to wrap it with duct tape. Not critical, of course, but to see Celestron (!) soldering, similar to the one that I soldered at school -))) The second disadvantage is the absence of a wire connecting the telescope to the computer. And nowhere did I find an explanation: what kind of wire is needed. It is also not explained anywhere: how to ate the software of the telescope control panel.

Great adapter!: camera and photo

Great product! Works great with my Celestron Nexstar 4se and Cannon t2i with gun adapter. Now I can take great photos. Wife and kids love the photos I can take!

Works exactly how I needed it.

Purchased to connect my Panasonic Lumix G7 to my Celestron 4SE telescope along with a T-mount lens adapter. The threads are good and tight so they don't hang out. Very durable when a large camera is mounted on the back.

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • Damaged

Cannot use accessory filter

This allows me to connect my DSLR to my Celestron 4SE. BUT there is no way to use standard 1.25 filters; That being said, if you have a Celestron 4 and want to use the SLR without a filter, this is a MUST! There is currently NO filter option for this telescope.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Faulty

Impressive telescope accessories

I recently bought a small Celestron NexStar 4SE telescope and was looking for a way to mount my Nikon DSLR on the back of the telescope. All requirements were thus fully met. Unfortunately, my camera is too heavy for such a small telescope. Luckily I got my NexStar 8SE in February or March so it's definitely not going to waste. All metal structures and appear to be very well built.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Little things

Do you want to use the camera on the CES MAK oscilloscope?

My husband's review: When I got the 4" Ces Mak I didn't realize it could carry a camera. Found this a few months later reading the instructions. This requires a few adapters. Instructions, this item is the key and is designed for the scope. No problem except now I need to align the scope precisely which is not so easy compared to the scope mounted on the GEM.

  • Sturdy build

Ideal. Better than expected

Got this to install my Sony á300 on my Celestron C-130 Mak. It's just perfect for the main focus. I was expecting it to be plastic, like Celestron's crappy 45° rear eyepiece holder, but it's a very well made piece of black anodized aluminum. The camera hangs like a stone on the visor. (Big Heavy Rock LOL). For less than $25 and Adorama's unbeatable service, you can't go wrong.

A must for astrophotography!

Essential for DSLR astrophotography. The adapter plugs directly into the telescope's eyepiece mount (no eyepiece). No problems with assembly - neither on the telescope nor on the camera. The shipping packaging was adequate with no necessary frills (such as an item in a box). It was inexpensive but essential gear that I didn't realize I needed. I'm glad that Celestron thinks about more than just telescopes and eyepieces - at least I don't!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Doesn't pull hard enough to attach adapter to telescope

The adapter looked perfect. I bought the Celestron made one to fit the C-90, although it cost more; just because i wanted to make sure it would fit. Something is wrong: the slip ring (as it's called in the C-90 manual) doesn't screw in tight enough to hold the adapter firmly in place. It's missing about 1/16" before it starts to clamp the adapter on the telescope. I checked the threads on the telescope and slip ring closely. Neither showed anything abnormal. But the slip ring just doesn't screw

  • Confident
