Works great with Linux, CHIRP, and Baofeng UV-5R

Cable looks high quality and goes well with Baofeng UV-5R wireless connectors. The cable worked well with this setup: LinuxMint 18 Host OS, Linux Kernel 4.4.0->VirtualBox Virtual Machine Software 5.1.38-->Skywave Linux Guest OS 3.1.1--->CHIRP programming software, version daily-20180519 ( dies was preinstalled in Skywave Linux) ---> Baofeng UV-5R Radio, with firmware BFB298 Linux OS identified the cable as built with Prolific chip. On Linux, no driver installation/manipulation was required. I instructed CHIRP to access the radio through the /dev/ttyUSB0 port. I don't know if this cable will work on Windows or macOS as those configurations have not been tried. In theory, if the cable doesn't work on Windows or macOS, you could install the virtual machine software on those host OSs and then run Skywave Linux (free) as a guest OS to get the same successful results as I did. You must configure the virtual machine to forward the USB connection to the guest operating system.
