Had serious problems with Hero9, finally returned it.1. Multiple 10+ stuck pixels, worse indoors2. Serious overheating issues and not being able to record in 4K or 5K for more than 20-30 minutes before shutting down and waiting for it to cool down. Mainly due to the 3 year old processor: GP1, the same as in Hero6.3. Not compatible with older accessories. No longer supports Smart Remote as confirmed by GoPro as they are releasing a 'new' Smart Remote for $$$. A slight increase in lens size means that the old ND filters for Hero5-7 no longer work with Hero9.4. Poor connectivity with Quik for iOS app, sometimes failing to connect at all.5. The touchscreen often doesn't register touches and doesn't work smoothly at all.6. Difficult to activate GPS and recorded telemetry are not compatible with GoPro Quik software for Windows. Quik for Windows does not support H.265 files at all, which is required for Hero9.7's higher resolution. The maximum file size of 4GB means that longer or higher resolution videos will be split into multiple files. It is not possible with any Quik software to merge video files and maintain a continuous telemetry overlay. In addition, Hero9 lacks many of the features available from other competitors.1. Both the Quik app and the Windows software require huge video files to be fully downloaded before previewing or editing can be enabled. This is available on OneR.2. Poor low light performance, even worse than Hero8. Increasing the number of pixels with the same sensor size resulted in a smaller pixel size, meaning less light is captured. In contrast, the OneR has a 1-inch sensor. 3. It's 2020 and GoPro is still using a square lens. The Osmo Action round interchangeable lens makes it easy to install third-party CPL filters. OneR like deep tracking/webcam tracking (object tracking), AquaVision (underwater filter) and PureShot (low light HDR) brought Hero9 back and back to the older Hero2018 and considered switching to OneR or waiting for OneR 2. .
