I bought these lights early for Halloween this year and they have been a real lifesaver for this busy mum. When I bought them, I intended to use them in baby pumpkins once fresh pumpkins became available to carve. Around the time pumpkins appeared, I became very ill and spent extra-curricular time in the hospital. So carving pumpkins with our kids was the last thing my husband and I focused on. Thank God I had those headlights! We ended up using these lights at a store and bought some fake pumpkins that we bought at the store. They worked wonderfully and the kids loved them. Each bulb is powered by 3 AAA batteries, but they last a long time. There is an automatic timer mode that allows them to turn on at the same time every day without any action (you can decide how long to keep them on: 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours). They also turn themselves off and back on by themselves. There is a regular steady light setting and a flickering light setting that looks just like a real candle. There are many other options on the remote, but I didn't need the others. I was seriously excited! My kids completely forgot they didn't actually carve these pumpkins. Today we finally got to carve our pumpkins and my only regret is that I only had two of them (a pack of 2 bulbs). The instructions say you can put it in a ziplock bag and seal it for outdoor use, which I'm looking forward to. Especially since they can be set to turn on and off at the same time every day, so I don't have to fiddle with them. The plans are to order more lamps, put pumpkins on the porch, turn them on and off, and forget about them! The light they give off is so good that I plan to use them all year round. I have decorative lanterns, candle holders, vows and other items that would look great in them. I am very, very happy with this purchase!
