Firstly, don't listen to people who can't read descriptions. Second, forgive my shabby outfit; it was cleaning day ;) The size is exactly as advertised. I'm 5ft 6in for reference so that's a decent size. I put it together in less than 10 minutes and the little hammer that came with it came in handy. I was able to hit the posts deep enough to feel safe. I wear women's 8, men's 7, and I'm comfortable wearing ten pairs. I used the medium sticks for the top shelf instead of making the handles as the short sticks mean my Dr. Martens a little crowded on the second shelf. Overall, I'm glad I bought it and would buy it again.
