I used small "real" candles in small jars in my lanterns and hated that I had to "light and then blow them out" to use them. A YouTube lady recommended these candles in several of her videos, so I gritted my teeth and ordered them. I just love her! You look so real. This is the perfect size for those special lanterns and I will find many uses for the rest of my candles. So far I've put batteries in 6 candles and they all work great, both manually and with the remote control. It's great to take a small remote and 'click' to turn it on, or you can set it to run on a timer which I set to a 2 hour timer and the right one time was switched off and on at the same time. the next day. I highly recommend these candles! No matches required, no live flames to worry about, no need to blow them out. Wonderful! I've only had it for a few days, so I can't comment on the battery life. But I always have plenty of good quality AA batteries and they are easy to replace when needed.
