Review on DeLonghi ECAM 23.120.B by Agata Wiatrowska ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thing for the money, Im glad I chose this option.

Before that, they brewed coffee in a Turk on gas for 3 years. It was nice. Until this car came along. Now - great. However, the coffee is the same. Previously, they used the Delonghi KG79 coffee grinder, which still works great to this day, then ground coffee into a cezve. Now it has lost its relevance. On the day of purchase, a series of experiments were carried out. Firstly, the instructions say that the first 4-5 cups you need to pick up coffee and the device goes through a “run-in”. We brewed about 10 cups to the point where we got the coffee we wanted, trying different settings that greatly affected the taste of the coffee. What are these settings? 1. Grinding degree (adjustable inside the coffee container) 2. Dose (knob on the front) 3. Water temperature (it turned out to be one of the most important parameters) We got the best coffee with the following settings: 1. The finest grinding 2. Middle position (at 12 o'clock) 3. The third of 4 possible modes. That is almost the hottest Important! Since the device allows you to brew coffee from already ground coffee (a separate compartment inside), we not only tried it, but there was also an attempt to brew cocoa. That was in vain. They almost broke the system, since cocoa powder is much lighter than coffee and it got stuck in places, and then partially merged into waste not as a tablet, but as a viscous liquid. Cocoa, of course, did not work. All the better). In the end everything worked great again. It is important to wash the cappuccino horn itself, as it becomes coated after making the cappuccino froth. I also noticed that the instructions say something like: "pull the horn down to remove it .", but it turned out that you first need to turn it 90 degrees, then pull it down. It’s good that I didn’t vomit according to the instructions). A little more expensive than the simplest models, and this small overpayment is worth it: it looks more modern and has more chrome. The consumption of water and coffee has become almost 2 times more in comparison with the Turk. This is obviously of course, a different principle of operation). Good luck and happy coffee everyone!

Pros
  • Design, convenience and ease of use, ease of settings, flexibility of settings including temperature control, coffee taste. Very quiet operation.
Cons
  • If you find fault, then the horn of the cappuccinatore is very close to the body and you can rub a mug on the body. So almost everyone. Realistically, there are no shortcomings.
