Review on πŸ”’ Tangle-Free Retractable Cargo Mall: No Ratcheting Hassle! by Dee Holt

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A significant improvement over traditional straps requires a slightly stronger retraction spring.

In general, these straps are very comfortable. I use them to tie my son's wheelchair to the back of our van. I used to use regular ratchet straps and that was a big problem. I attached one end to the floor of the van with a heavy duty screwgate carabiner and pull the hooks out to connect to the seat attachment points. Now it's much faster and easier. My only complaint is that I wish the retractor spring was strong enough for the belt to wear out enough to snap, but the retractor can't even support its own weight. The extra strap retracts but with a noticeable 3-4 ratchet pump sag from the weight of the mechanism itself. If the spring were a bit stronger so it could be relatively firm that would be ideal as a manual ratchet system would be the ultimate solution .

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • A few little things
