Bought to board a boat.

Traveled fairly lightly and couldn't release them. I had to cut them off to get the boat off the trailer. I went back to regular ratchet straps, cheaper and easier to use. I didn't have time to figure out what went wrong.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Clarity

We use them as wheelchair mounts

I use them to attach my husband's wheelchair to the wheelchair lift in our car. They kept it safe during the 2,040-mile round trip from Texas to Michigan and back. We checked them at every stop and there was no relaxation. The elevator company offered them to us as the ones made specifically for the chair and elevator cost over $200. I am very happy with them.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Frequency

Won't come loose after a few uses

They worked great a couple of times then the retractors wouldn't let go of the strap when pulled. Very frustrating, I can't unpack my OHV in the mountains. Finally, I started the car and moved forward a few inches to release the pressure. I'm looking for quality straps that don't really conjure up a lot of 4 letter words in my head.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Crumpled

20 years have passed.

Twenty years ago I bought a pair of self-tensioning ratchet straps for about $40. They were smart and I was impressed with them at the time. Twenty years later I still have them and they were finally starting to wear out a bit and the mechanisms were sticking to them a bit so I bought and received these 4 packs for less than what a pair had cost in 2000 or so. . I will post another review in twenty years when they start to wear out.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Available in white only

great idea. bad life

I hate playing with ratchet straps. it looked like the answer. HIS NOTE: Extremely easy to apply. When riding in the rain or any other area with sand/mud. Forget it. Belts and winders are covered by the drive and when released. no fun. Previously I had to cut 2 straps out of 4 to take the load off the trailer. Luckily I have LOTS of straps. If you need something that only works in a clean environment, like a closed trailer or similar. Here it is. An open trailer exposed to road conditions…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Easy to use and no more dangling straps

The question "strength and durability" is misleading as I will know the answer once I get it from the seller, time will tell I have yet to find out how strong and durable they are. For now I can say they appear solid and durable. That's an honest statement. If I had one criticism I would say that I wish the shoulder straps were a little stiffer, but since they automatically retract this may not be possible, but that's the only thing I would question at this point.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Something different

Easy to use, save time!

Absolutely cool, I caught ice cream one night, went back to the trailer and had to buckle up side to side, mind you it was -20 degrees, I had ratchet straps and I hate them. I almost lost my fingers that night trying to buckle my car and I got in the truck and told myself there must be an easier way so I went home and looked at Revane to see the seat belts that i had seen and thank you thank you thank you they are so easy to use no mess no dangling straps length pull and ratchet and i use it…

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • ---

In general, these straps are very comfortable. I use them to tie my son's wheelchair to the back of our van. I used to use regular ratchet straps and that was a big problem. I attached one end to the floor of the van with a heavy duty screwgate carabiner and pull the hooks out to connect to the seat attachment points. Now it's much faster and easier. My only complaint is that I wish the retractor spring was strong enough for the belt to wear out enough to snap, but the retractor can't even…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • A few little things

They definitely need to be locked

I saw a question where they asked if they need to be locked by hand and the answer was they might be but there is no need to press Simply retracting the red button and strap firmly and securely is highly misleading. they MUST BE HAND TIGHTENED. I used it to transport my two motorcycles in about 6 hours. In the past I've only ever used ratchet straps, but I was looking forward to the extra retractable straps and they're always missing so I didn't have to tie them. My experience with them is that
