Review on πŸ’» Versatile and Sleek: Acer Iconia Tab A500-10S16u 10.1-Inch Tablet Computer (Aluminum Metallic) by Joel Young

Great tablet, but still has a few bugs.

This tablet is amazing! Let's start with the good: Excellent graphics The screen is responsive and accurate Tegra processor is very fast USB Full size Android (customize as you like) Micro SD up to 32GB In categories such as; e.g. social, multimedia. You can't remove them, but you can remove them from the home screen and replace them with any apps you want. In general, everything is fine with the Acer interface. The included Acer Clear.fi works as advertised. It recognized my 4TB home NAS in minutes and was able to browse, upload, and stream it with minimal issues (more on that in the bad section). Now for the bad: Android Honeycomb, just in the sense that it's new and still has some bugs. I'm sure it will get better with time. Most issues with this tab seem to be software related, e.g. B. Force quit apps. To be honest, if you're using an app designed for a 4-inch phone with different hardware, you should expect some issues. I haven't had any of the issues reported in other posts, such as: B. the independent switching on and off of the screen. Remember that there is absolutely no user manual for this tab. The accompanying manual from Acer looks shabby. If you have never used the Android system, you may get lost at first. The built-in video file support leaves a lot to be desired, requiring you to download a third-party app for most formats. Arc Media or Moboplayer offers you support for almost all formats. This may change with the upcoming software update in June. All in all, this is a great tab. I've tried Zoom and I don't see why anyone would pay more for what I think is a smaller tab. The Asus Transformer is the only closed tab, but you'll have to shell out another $150 to get a USB port. As for the keyboard, my bluetooth works great and you can get it for a lot less than $150. I won't compare it to Ipad as this tab is built on an open source platform and not a closed system. If you like customizing things your way and aren't afraid to experiment, this tab is for you. If you want stylish packaging and limited functionality at no extra cost, get an iPad.
