The thickness is more like normal cotton but maybe not so wet.

very thin material - I have never seen such a thin fleece. Not warm at all but maybe used on a warm ski day to keep drafts out. It is also definitely NOT suitable for an 8 year old. It's quite large and doesn't hold its shape. I haven't tried it on teenagers or adults. I would like to return it but I missed the return deadline so I'm not worried now. The thickness is more like normal cotton but maybe not get wet.
