Review on HotStyle MIETTE 7L Mini Backpack Purse Bag by Damon Murray

Edit: The magnetic closure got too weak after about half a year of using. Trying to find a new way to get it closed at the flap.Straight out of the box it comes in a large zip-block back. Unlike other bags this doesn't have an overwhelming new bag smell. I got the navy blue with polka dots and the design print looks clear and solid.The entire bag has a hefty durable feel and is thick all over. And there some padding on the back. I don't feel like the straps are going to break or come loose with pressure or movement. The magnetic closure and rings that cover the drawstring holes however are a light plastic. Although it is a Chinese imported bag, it feels like something you could get at a Walmart.The inner bag itself can fit a large amount of things. When the bag is fully open I can fit a 11 inch sketchbook on it's side or a regular 1-subject notebook vertically/horizontally with lots depth still. I can fit four 5-subject notebooks from back to front which is a lot but very heavy. Closed tight I can at least fit a pair of clothes and a water bottle (in the water bottle holder.)On the back there is an open pocket with a small zipper pocket attached. The open pocket can just barely fit an 5.7 x 8 inch notebook vertically. A thick long wallet can also fit by itself. Both leave the zipper pocket unusable. However, a thin makeup bag, a tiny tablet or switch lite can fit without much problems. The zipper pocket can barely fit a 5 1/2 in phone by itself.On the bag's outside: the front and back pocket can also fit the same phone just barely horizontally or vertically. Both have lots of room for other things even with the phone in.The negatives:- Because it's so thick, it will not scrunch up tight like a regular drawstring bag.- The flap only covers the bag hole when it's shut as tight as possible. When the bag is stretched out horizontally it can get rain and other debris in easily.- The drawstring make it a bit hard to get things in and out of the bag.- Floppy / has nothing to keep bottom openThe good:- Water resistant material- Expands for all sorts of uses when I need it to be bigger.- It is a nice small size scrunched up and doesn't feel huge on my back.
