I ordered this drive as a direct replacement for the DVD drive in my original Xbox 360 (thick) which was no longer able to read discs. The description of this disc on Amazon says they are sending: Model number: DG-16D2S Firmware version: AOA1 However what got me was: Model: DG-16D2S-09C Firmware version: AOA2 As the motherboard for DVD drives should be replaced to make it work in your 360, I wasn't sure if that would work. For those who don't know, there is an encryption key on the motherboard of the original 360 DVD drive that locks it on the Xbox 360 it was originally installed in. You can't just buy a new DVD drive for your 360 without converting motherboards to DVD drives (which isn't too difficult if you know how to solder) or flashing the drive, which I don't recommend. Thank you microsoft I've scoured the web to see if the two drives are compatible and if the motherboards can be easily swapped out since the model numbers are different. I found some forum posts saying this shouldn't be a problem so tired and still not 100% convinced I went ahead anyway and replaced the motherboards in the DVD drives and prayed it would work. Luckily it worked and the new drive works great with the old DVD drive motherboard installed in it. There are only 3 ribbon cables to connect and 6 wires to solder which should be a very easy task if you are good at soldering. There are some videos on YouTube that explain this procedure in detail. Overall very happy with the disc as it actually worked but I think the seller should probably check their listing on Revain and clarify which specific disc they are sending you as the one I received wasn't the one that was on on the list, although it ended up working great.
