Review on ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Brother MFC-J995DW INKvestmentTank: Color Inkjet All-in-One Printer with Mobile Device, Duplex Printing, and 1-Year Ink Supply by Adam Gardner

Seems to use a lot of ink, is quite noisy and slow

Replacement for the old one Canon Pixma which has been giving me some trouble lately. This one is set up like a dream and looks amazing. I don't like hand feeding. Located on the back, it does not support paper and will automatically suck a sheet of paper. I worry about future interference if he sucks it in at an angle. It's incredibly loud. I thought the other reviewers were crazy, but this is loud and makes a high-pitched squeak when printing high-quality colors. So far it looks like it's going to use a ton of ink for me. The colors were initially too bright and I had to fiddle with other settings. The color is still not the same (too dark now) but better than it was. Printing full color sheets is very slow. Much slower than my almost 10 year old Canon. The quality is about the same. I was expecting an improvement in this area, but no. I'm not sure I'll leave this as I use my machine to print product labels and if the colors still don't match I can send it back. and keep fighting my old machine that actually prints colors reliably even though the printheads in it keep clogging (causing me to spend 1-2 hours cleaning every time I change the ink). So you can see why I wanted to update. but if the new printer can't get the colors right, I don't see a way to keep it. Update: After a few days I still found a few cons: the black color is not liquid, it's like laser powder toner. Therefore, it smudges incredibly easily when printed on glossy paper, but dries out over time. I'm not 100% satisfied with the print quality. It's a bit blurry/pixelated. I switched from USB to WiFi and had to keep reinstalling the software to get it working. There is no quick fix when switching connection methods. Sending him back is very difficult at the moment so I'm keeping him now that I've learned his quirks. But because of this, I still keep my old printer plugged in, which is incredibly inconvenient. **UPDATE** After owning this printer for a month and using it daily, I can say I 100% regret the purchase. I use the rear manual feed tray quite a bit for glossy labels and it's incredibly difficult to load and often doesn't load properly. Every time I use glossy paper, everything smudges and all the ink smudges too easily (it smudges even after waiting a few hours to dry). It reacts like powdered toner, not like liquid ink. Unfortunately I've been busy and missed the return window for a few days so I can't return it, I'm stuck and will only use it for basic paper print jobs (the ones that often wash out and the colors are weird).
