Review on MÜHLE TRADITIONAL R89 Double Edge Safety Razor: The Ultimate Barbershop Quality Razor for a Close, Smooth Shave by Lisa Frank

I have been waiting for this review for almost a month so that I can use the shaver several times. I used to have a razor that screwed in at the bottom and opened like a butterfly where you put the blade. In doing so, you unscrew the handle and the top splits in two with the blade running in between. At first I thought it would be annoying, but it really isn't. I read another comment that suggested putting some petroleum jelly on the handle threads to keep the water from rotting on the metal. It seemed like a good idea, so I did it. Thanks to the closed comb, the razor glides easily over the face. Not sure if open comb or closed comb is used - not that knowledgeable. I did a little pre-purchase research and read that the closed comb is a bit safer, so I went with it. I'm not exactly the busiest shaver (don't ask why, because I don't know, but I've been known to shave sideways - and that's a no-go), so a closed comb seemed like a sensible solution. Regardless, I feel like I shave very cleanly, and more importantly, my skin doesn't feel rough after shaving (it used to be - I'm probably more clumsy than I should be). All in all, I can recommend this shaver.
