Ideal for RV

I've been trying to find a good RV dehumidifier for years. I have tried at least 5 different dehumidifiers over the years. So far this one is the best. The best part is that it operates at much lower temperatures than compressor types. In addition, it is very quiet and light. Now all I care about is how long it lasts. I'll edit the review later if I have any reliability issues. I can run this unit low in my 250 square foot RV and it keeps the humidity right where I want it. It draws about 250 watts low and uses about 4kWh per day at 90% RH outside and 40 to 50 temp. I keep the humidity setting at 55% and a couple of external monitors say it stays between 57% and 59% RH. Update 1. After a week of operation, the humidity is kept at 54/55% controlled by two other separate sensors. Energy consumption has dropped to 1 kWh per day, which is 9 cents per day in my area. Update 2: I liked the first one so much I bought another one for my garage. I understand that the big difference between a traditional compressor dryer and this adsorption dryer is the operating temperature range. This dehumidifier still works very well below 60 degrees (up to 34 degrees), while the compressor type becomes very inefficient and stops working below 50 degrees. Ivation also underestimates the amount of space it can drain. I use it in a 576 sf garage and it works great. I can drive two cars wet from the rain at night and the next morning they're both almost dry, if not completely dry. I have found that the humidity readings on this unit are about 10% lower than my external hygrometer. Costs. As for the comment about the external drain not working, you need to make sure the hose is tight or it will actually leak, fill the tank and turn off the power. Update 3 - A year has passed and both dehumidifiers are still working great. They take out a lot of water. My output power was too high. I see no difference in my electric bill after running both dehumidifiers all winter. Update 4: After a year and a half, one of my two devices failed. An autopsy revealed a deformed dry disk. This drive appears to have warped due to a sudden drop in performance under heavy load. Next to the disc is a high wattage heating element which probably warped the disc due to power losses due to residual heat. There were black scratches on the plastic cross braces next to the disc. I was able to fix it by removing the drive and warping it a bit. Thanks to the designers as this dehumidifier is designed for a major overhaul. Instead of all the plastic clips and latches, everything is bolted on for easy disassembly. In all my years of fixing things this is best of all. The motherboard is very well labeled what each connector is for and the wiring is excellent. All in all a very well designed device but the disc needs improvement to keep it from warping. It will be interesting to see how another device has the same malfunction. By the way, I contacted the support via email and got a response from them within 48 hours. They were very responsive and helpful as they were willing to replace my unit (without me having to return the faulty unit) as long as it was under warranty. Unfortunately my warranty has expired so I couldn't use it. Update 5: Unfortunately I had to lower my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. Shortly after my first repair it failed again. This time I traced it back to the disc engine. This is a 115VAC CW motor that has a reversing mechanism if it starts in the wrong direction. This mechanism has failed and is beyond repair by most people. This is the part you can't get because the company doesn't sell the parts to the owners. I searched for the engine to no avail, so I was forced to dig into it. For most people, that would mean sending it in for repairs or throwing it away. A year of life does not bode well for this dehumidifier. My other still works. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to fail. Engine failure aside, it's still an incredible dehumidifier when it's running. Update 6 is the third year. Since I repaired the first unit, both have worked very well. Always absorbs plenty of water. There is no other dehumidifier on the market that still works in sub-zero temperatures.
