Review on πŸ“š Set of 8 Sesame Street Elmo Manners Books for Kids & Toddlers by Jason Holt

I expected more from a brand like Sesame Street

1970's kid, I love Sesame Street. So I have high hopes for their products. These books are fine. They are colorful and the story ideas are good. In other words, the concepts are just. But the performance leaves a lot to be desired. For example, the grammar in some stories is odd and definitely above the way of speaking to a young child. It's hard to explain, but some of the words and phrases used are not common - at least I haven't heard of them. Also, the manners book misses some opportunities. Please, thank you, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, etc. are usually not adequately covered. There should also be a book about greetings. Hello, goodbye, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, etc. These are conspicuously absent from this collection of books. A book about feelings is the only book that really stands out. This book is outstanding in itself and is the only book my son asks me to read by name. Overall I am disappointed with this purchase. I won't be returning them but what I did was change the letter to make more sense for the little one.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
