Oddly enough, it's more comfortable than in plain socks or barefoot. I think this is due to their stretchy/flexible mesh that gently hugs your foot. It seems calming. I like how they sit on the ankles. Not tight, but not loose either. They can't handle basketball side-to-side/side-to-side or rock climbing, but are great for walking, shopping, or even airport trips. . I constantly give myself "plates" with my Sanuk slippers. The outsole profile is not very aggressive, but the rubber compound has excellent traction. I also like that they are almost completely silent. No clapping or rattling. First shoes I've ever owned and I look forward to putting them on in the morning. You are so good! I wouldn't call them ultra light, but they are light. They are lighter than most shoes but I have had many lighter shoes. The type/suitable rubber of the soles does not allow them to be ultra light.
