This is probably the worst Vornado product I have ever bought. The thermostat in this heater never worked properly (heater turned off before reaching set temperature, room temperature reading higher than expected). The anemic fan never distributed the heat in the room as advertised. Others' reports of blown sockets are true - I had the same. Eventually, the device overheated and shut down (right before I unplugged it), giving off a pungent burning smell. Contact customer support through the Vornado website - it took a week to get a response which may take over three weeks to respond to my request. This is the worst customer service! Meanwhile it is still winter so I had to buy another heater (different brand). There are better and cheaper alternatives to this Vornado product. The name Vornado no longer fits what it used to be.
