Looks beautiful - some features of the installation

These headlights look great on my old 2001 LIftgate Suburban truck. They are definitely better than the old light assemblies with sun fading and small cracks that constantly leak water and burn out bulbs. The catch is that the sockets are not properly trimmed during assembly to match the original lamp's sockets and their "ear" position. . Some reviews suggested the "ear holes" could be filed and the strap could be stretched, but with a single hole suitable for a reverse light, red. So I redid the sockets. Basically I cut the wiring harness and put the sockets in the holes they went in and then connected the harness wires to the sockets they were intended for. For the do-it-yourselfer it makes no difference whether he is familiar with soldering and shrinking or with connectors. The reverse light doesn't seem to let in as much light, possibly due to the shading of the build, but I have a solution for this using LEDs and resistors. Overall they look very nice on the truck and I gave them a 3 star rating because I can't imagine why they didn't install the sockets differently as there is plenty of room on the truck's seat belts to stretch.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
