A real sign of home I love these bulbs, I quickly changed 24 bulbs around the house so I ordered another box. For those tired of the yellow tint of most lightbulbs, they help create white light. I've read some others who had DOA bulbs but mine had no problem. I can't say how long they last just by putting them on, but I can guarantee this will be tested by living in a home with kids who can only turn the light switch to the on position. 40W is white light but not very bright so I also get a higher wattage for areas where I want really bright light. Overall I am very happy with the lamps and hope they will last for many years.
