Review on Cable Matters 8 Pack Snagless Ethernet by Bryan Murphy

Why They're Perfect

As a network technician with almost 20 years of experience, I know a little about network cabling. I will simplify because I understand that the average reader is not a network engineer. If you have a desktop switch (that literally sits on your desktop) and that switch acts as a device that connects your laptop, PC, NAS, printer, etc. within your reach, these Cat5Es are NOT the best choice. These patch cords are HARD, not soft. However, if you need to connect devices under the table (out of sight), these patch cords are PERFECT for you. If you don't need to look at them and move network nodes, then why need a softer patch cord? Well you don't know. So if you need them to connect nodes to your network and they are (mostly) off-site, get them. If you have other needs and those patch cords are mostly visible AND you need to move things around for ergonomic reasons, get a patch cord with a soft outer sleeve. That being said, these Cat5Es are perfect for 90% of what I find practical. You can't beat the price and they work as they're supposed to. I do not regret the purchase at all and have recommended them to my colleagues and friends/family.

Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something - to
