I use the Surface Pen a lot. This will be a spare in my pocket when the surface pen is off or forgotten. This new grip is lighter and longer than the surface grip. It's more like a real pen (the surface pen is heavier than the real pen). But of course the surface contact gives a better feel thanks to the aluminum alloy body. The best part is that it is rechargeable. When my Surface Book is available, I don't have to worry about power. (My Surface Pen battery has been changed three times.) The "eraser" button is now in front, which is more convenient. The typing feel is smooth and fluid with no lag. However, the nib is not as good as the original pen. The spring of the novelty is made of plastic, not rubber. Feels more like a "Wacom" pin for a Surface Pro 2 (which I used 2 years ago). In any case, the price for this quality is quite justified for me.
