my thiolet was bad from day one, dealer and thetford told me to put silicone grease on the seal, it worked about 2 weeks, stuck and wouldn't close. (which he has been doing since day one). Last fall I disassembled it, installed new gaskets and lubricated it with silicone grease. This period lasted about 6 weeks. I wanted to buy a new toilet, I saw this spare part, I bought it and installed it, it works perfectly. Installation tip: Everyone complains about installing a new part when screwing it in. I've done this before, no problem, well the new part has brand new tabs. I had the problem too, I figured out what was going on, I smeared some silicone lube on each tongue, got my wife to hold it and things went a little easier.
